Survivors and their children can live free from violence when they receive access to respite, refuge, and resources, regardless of their circumstances.
DASH’s Cornerstone Residence is the largest dedicated safe housing program in Washington, DC. But it is more than an apartment building. Here, survivors and their children are welcomed with a key to their own furnished unit, on-site advocacy, a playground and meditation garden, laundry facilities, and trauma-informed services for free for up to two years. Here, ALL survivors find a safe place to heal and rebuild their lives.
To secure the future of DASH’s emergency and transitional safe housing program, we launched the Journey Home: Campaign for Cornerstone. By 2022, we plan to complete the purchase of Cornerstone’s $3.3M building loan and undertake critical renovations and upgrades to make this a lasting home for over 50 adults and 65 children each year. Owning our own building will help us better respond to the increasing need for our services and innovate for the future to welcome more survivors.
Thanks to the generosity of our early supporters, we are over 50% toward our $4.5M goal!
Help us secure the future of this safe home for survivors and families by making a pledge to the Journey Home Campaign today. Together, we are creating a community where every home is a safe home.
